Rayshon Garvin Charged with Attempted Murder in Belle Glade Shooting

A man from Belle Glade has been accused of trying to kill his on-and-off girlfriend of five years.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) responded to a shooting investigation on Sunday at Southwest 4th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near Glades Market Convenience Store in Belle Glade.

When the deputy arrived, the victim said she was driving with her friends to another friend’s house when Rayshon Garvin, 35, called her, asking for her location and who she was with. She shared her location with Garvin, who then showed up on a bicycle and started yelling and cursing at her.

Garvin shouted that he was going to kill her, so the victim jumped into the front seat of the vehicle and put it in reverse. According to PBSO, Garvin then pulled out a gun and shot at her through the windshield.

The victim then drove until she found a police officer on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Detectives said Garvin ran away, and deputies chased him. They released a K-9, which bit Garvin in the butt and right shoulder, allowing deputies to catch him.

The victim confirmed Garvin as the shooter, and deputies found a bullet shell casing at the scene.

Garvin has been accused of first-degree premeditated murder.
