Former UNF Basketball Player Arrested for Stalking Student

An Orlando man named Jordan Preaster, who used to play basketball for the University of North Florida (UNF), was arrested on July 6 for stalking a UNF student.

The police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) says that on May 22, Preaster blocked the student’s car and left a teddy bear, a rose, candy, and two small trays next to it.

He then let her drive away but followed her until she managed to lose him on the highway.

On June 23, Preaster turned himself in at the police station and was charged with stalking and trespassing.

This wasn’t his first trouble with the police. In 2022, he was banned from the UNF campus, and in 2023, he was arrested for going back there despite the ban.

Police reports also say he has a pending domestic violence warrant from an incident on May 7, where he allegedly used physical violence and poured dish soap on the victim’s hair.

The UNF Athletics Department did not respond to requests for comments.
