The 5th annual Great Futures Celebrity Polo Charity Cup & Brunch took place Sunday, March 11, and raised more than $240,000 for the Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club of Wellington.
Grand Champions Polo Club was the host of the morning’s celebrity polo match featuring honorary event chairmen Nacho Figueras, Martin Pepa and Wellington resident Nic Roldan.
Many club members were present to watch the match, meet players and get up close to the horses. Players took time to sign shirts, pose for pictures and talk to the kids about the game.
“It was such a wonderful day with great weather to come out for the benefit of club kids,” said Neil Hirsch. “I’m thrilled that these polo greats continue to come back year after year because they believe in the mission of this organization.”
The celebrity match was followed by a brunch at the International Polo Club Mallet Grille. Nearly two hundred guests had the opportunity to participate in a live auction led by Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw that offered fabulous items and getaways.
After brunch, guests had the opportunity to enjoy the Gold Cup Match featuring Valiente versus Colorado.
