Palm Healthcare Foundation recently announced the next two of six local communities to receive $1 million. It’s part of the foundation’s Healthier Together initiative.
Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach/Riviera Beach were selected to receive $200,000 a year for the next five years. The money will go toward improving the health and well-being of local residents.
The announcement was made in front of nearly one hundred guests at the foundation’s annual Community Update event.
Healthier Together is a place-based grant-making strategy implemented by Palm Healthcare Foundation to solve Palm Beach County’s most complex healthcare issues neighborhood by neighborhood.
The initiative is a collaborative process that puts the decision-making and responsibility for one’s own health back into the hands of the community.
“Healthier Together is all about bringing people together from diverse segments of our community to work on improving important health issues in neighborhoods with an overall goal to improve the health and well-being of everyone in Palm Beach County,” said Andrea Bradley, J.D., president and CEO of Palm Healthcare Foundation.
Last October, Palm Healthcare Foundation launched Healthier Together with the announcement of the first two neighborhoods to receive the multi-year funding: Jupiter and Delray Beach.
